The Institute of quantitative and technical economics of CASS grew out of the institute of technical economics, which was founded on January 18^th, 1982. It has been renamed when the Division of quantitative economics in the institute of economics and the Division of modernized management in the institute of industrial economics was merged in.

We have a staff of 86, and 74 of it are research personnel. We have 18 researchers and 24 associate researchers.

There are 2 specialties (quantitative economics and technical economics) for doctoral candidate in the IQTE. We have postdoctoral programs and 10 doctoral supervisors.

Being two new developing fields in our economics, the quantitative and technical economics combined the achievement of economic theory with mathematical method in research, and had an apparent character of cross-subject and particular advantage that other economic branches don’t have.

We have a good cooperation relationship with many domestic and foreign research organizations and win a wide fame. Our programs include “Analysis and Forecasts of China’s Economic Situations” supported by China State Council Ministry Fund, economic evaluation of “Three Gorges Dam Project”, “South-to-north water diversion project” and “Beijing-shanghai railway project” etc. we also make plans of industry and area development for our government departments.
